Jasmine Alexander PsyD (cand) CCC is an EMDRIA Approved Training Provider, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Certified Therapist. Jasmine mentored with one of the world’s leading EMDR researchers, educators and trainers, Andrew Leeds, Ph.D. She completed her fellowship training with Dr. Leeds at the Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute in California, and she is a licensee of their training program. Jasmine has travelled extensively across North America pursuing advanced training in the use of EMDR Therapy for complex and specialized populations. As well, she has personally trained with many of the world’s top EMDR Trainers and trauma instructors. She has completed more than 12,000 EMDR sessions with children, adolescents, and adults. Her training, knowledge, and clinical expertise in EMDR Therapy is strongly grounded in the most up-to-date research and innovative EMDR techniques. Jasmine is presently completing her Doctorate of Psychology at CaliforniaSouthern University.

The first of its kind in Canada, we utilize a unique and cutting-edge training model developed by world renowned researcher, educator, and clinician Andrew Leeds Ph.D., one of the first trainers to learn EMDR from the founder of EMDR Therapy, Francine Shapiro, Ph.D.
Our Mission and Philosophy
The EMDR Center of Canada is dedicated to preserving EMDR Therapy as it was originally taught by Francine Shapiro. Andrew Leeds, Ph.D., one of the first clinicians to be trained by Dr. Shapiro in the early 1990s, is one of the few trainers who has preserved, and continues to teach, EMDR Therapy as it was originally developed . Coupling this with the advances that have been made in EMDR Therapy over the last 25 years, Dr. Leeds has developed a rigorous, comprehensive and robust training curriculum in EMDR Therapy curriculum that is considered to be one of the best in North America.
The EMDR Center of Canada utilizes the same training curriculum as the Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute, founded by Andrew Leeds, Ph.D., and is pleased to bring this robust training program – the first of its kind – to Canada.
The EMDR Center of Canada provides evidence-based, post-graduate education and training in the diagnosis and treatment of survivors of trauma and neglect through public workshops and home study programs.
The EMDR Center of Canada is committed to fostering understanding, compassion and competence in the clinical assessment and treatment of neglect, abuse, and trauma. We promote the use of findings and principles from positive psychology in prevention and treatment programs. We strive to maintain the highest standards of scholarship for historical depth and recent findings. Our program presents context on issues where there is current consensus, as well as where there is scholarly disagreement.
